The Board of Directors of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization held its "second" regular meeting for the year 2018 in Baghdad on 23/5/2018, discussing number of human rights, organizational and relief issues focusing on the ongoing steps of the organization in following up the civil rights of Iraqi citizens and the importance of putting an end to all violations of the rights and under the laws and legislations that protect the rights of all Iraqi components away from any marginalization, isolation, exclusion or containment.
The Board was chaired by Mrs. Pascale Warda and the membership of Mr. Louis Marqus Ayoub Vice President of the Organization, Mr. William Warda Public Relations Officer, Dr. Mohammad Kathem Head of the Research and Studies Committee, Mrs. Ekhlas Bahnam Kamel Project Committee Officer, and as guests Mr. Yohana Yousef Tawaya head of the organization's branch in Erbil, Mr. Adel Saad Media advisor of the Organization.
The Council reviewed the decisions taken at the previous meeting held in Erbil on 15/3/2018 emphasizing on the importance of the presence of time contexts for implementing programs and activities on the Council's agenda.
The Council take into consideration the achievement of the relief service provided by the Organization to distribute more than (705) household systems for water purification and desalination in Bartala, Hamdaniya and Karamlis bringing the number of distributed systems to (1307).
The distribution was with support of Christian Solidarity International CSI including returnees to areas of Nineveh Plain.
The Council also noted the remarkable development in the relations established by Hammurabi Human Rights Organization with the United Organization for Human Rights, as a delegation including Mrs. Pascale Warda, Mr. Louis Marqus Ayoub, William Warda, Mr. Yohana Yousef Tawaya and number of members of the General Board met the President of this organization, Sami Faysal in his office in Mosul, and then another meeting with the youth Abdulla Sabah representative of the volunteer cadre in that organization. The positions were coordinated to serve the residents of Mosul.
The Board also referred to the importance of activating civil work in order to put an end to all forms of violations, such as kidnappings and assassinations in some Iraqi cities. The Council adopted a number of organizational and tactical decisions.
