On Sunday, September 15, 2024, Mrs. Pascale Warda, Chairwoman of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, followed up the humanitarian project implemented by the organization by holding a free teaching course in Khanke camp, west of Dohuk Governorate regarding Yazidi displaced students of the final grades, to raise their academic level.

 

Hammurabi Organization branch in Dohuk opened this free course in order to raise the level of Yazidi students in the final grades, which started on Wednesday 21-08-2024, in Khanke Secondary School for male and female to be continued for two months.

 

Mrs. Pascale briefed on the progress of the course considering  the impressions of the students and teachers also inspected the condition of the school, which lacks the simplest needs of students such as school trips, stationery, and others calling

 

 

on Yazidi youth to discourage the frustration because of the displacement situation they are living for "ten years", where their homes in Senjar had been completely destroyed, prevented them to return , and on their negative situation to lift the  injustice against them.

 

In her encouraging speech to the Yazidi youth, Mrs. Warda praised their role and level of intelligence for their participation in building a better future, asking them not to surrender to disappointment, whatever the circumstances, also demonstrated their role in society despite the circumstances and burden caused by the tragedy in their regions, their steadfastness to the genocide campaigns subjected by terrorism, as well as the cultural challenge of preserving their Yazidi identity and heritage despite their adversity and targeted mutilation campaigns.

 

Mrs. Warda focused on the importance of their continued study and excellence, being the fundamental pillar for day-to-day access to decision-making, thereby benefiting regions suffered from injustice, persecution and forced displacement, and they are from the ancient roots of Iraq, and called for the necessity of adhering to the national identity of the Yazidis, which is a part of the Iraqi civilization.

 

This initiative, implemented by Hammurabi Human Rights Organization and supported by Christian Solidarity International, aims to promote the scientific level of students of the Sixth grade Secondary school helping to achieve high academic results being an important stage of their academic life, qualifying to attend colleges and institutes ,especially since they are suffering from economic conditions due to their displacement from their regions, and living conditions in tents and endured the heat of summer and the rain and winter cold weather preventing them from providing the necessary educational needs.
