Mrs. Pascale Warda, Chairwoman of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, and Mr. William Warda, Director of Public Relations of the Organization, participated in the festive mass held by His Beatitude Patriarch Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako on Saturday, 11 August 2018, with the participation of (20) Bishops of the various Chaldean Church dioceses who met in Baghdad within the Chaldean Synod (Gathering).
His Beatitude Patriarch Sako, introduced the Chaldean bishops to all the faithful in the Church in St. Joseph in Kharbanda, Baghdad, and emphasized in his sermon the importance of the commitment of Christians to their well-known values, Christian faith and the ancient traditions of the Chaldean Church and their language.
As His Beatitude explained to the bishops, stressing that although the number of believers and followers of the Church in Baghdad has decreased due to migration and the hard situation of the country, but these few are effective evidence is the participation and interaction with the activities of the Church.
It is to be mentioned that the Synod proceeding began last Monday and continued for a week and is expected to issue the final statement of the work of the Synod on Sunday including the message of the Synod Fathers to the faithful and the vision of the Church for the next stage. It will also include decisions and recommendations concerning the Church and society.
