Mrs. Pascale Warda, Chairwoman of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization HHRO, former minister of Migration and Displaced, member of Iraqi Women's Network, describes the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to the Iraqi Yazidi Nadia Murad as an achievement of truth in all its lofty sense.
In her statement to Nirgal News Network , Mrs. Warda said that the award of Nadia Murad is a clear testimony that the international community can only be along with the oppressed and persecuted in their broad support for them and the victory of their rights which the terrorists and extremists are aiming to avoid, especially since Nadia Murad affirmed her courage and determination to confront the injustice and sexual abuse practiced by ISIS, and tried to sanctify it by all despicable and primitive means and the exploitation of religion without its proper values.
Mrs. Warda concluded her remarks by saying that we at Hammurabi Human Rights Organization congratulate the human rights activist Nadia Murad for winning this international award hoping that government institutions will be at the level of the national responsibility in the real victory of the demands and rights of the Iraqi minorities of Yazidis, Christians, Shabak, Kakayis,Sabien Mandaean and other minorities which protect their identities and preserve their dignity putting them at the level of real participation in the building of the civil state.
It is to be mentioned that Nadia Murad, awarded the Nobel Peace Prize was raped by ISIS during their invasion to Nineveh province in mid-2014, she was subjected to sexual abuse during her captivity with thousands of Iraqi Yazidis and Christians who were bought and sold several times in the slave trade markets where the criminals set up for this purpose.
A spokesman for Hammurbi Human Rights Organization said that the organization followed the case of the survivor Nadia Murad and the thousands of captive Yazidis and Christians. The organization issued annual and periodic reports on their plight and presented their case to the international public opinion attached with many facts.
The Yazidi-Iraqi human rights activist won the Nobel Peace Prize 2018 jointly with the Congolese gynecologists Denis Mukwege for his medical efforts to treat women subjected to sexual violence as a weapon of war and armed conflict. He has dedicated his life to treating women victims of sexual abuse.
