HHRO delivering medical services to more than 150 Christian family fleeing the violence in Mosul

As a result to the rising violence in Mosul with college students and a number of shops owners being murdered, and recently with the murder of 3 people coming from the same family, after such incidents Hammurabi Human Rights Organization reported that until Wednesday evening, 154 family fled Mosul heading to other areas in the Nineveh plain territory.

HHRO provided detailed information about the displacement process in the Nineveh plain, including the following information:

  • 25 families reached Baghdida (Qaraqosh) town.

  • 20 families reached Bartella.

  • 3 families reached Karamlis.

  • 15 families reached Tell-Skuf

  • 3 families reached Ba’shiqa and Bahzani.

  • 8 families reached Batnai.

  • 2 families reached Duhok.

At the same time, monasteries in the Nineveh plain got crowded with displaced families:

  • 33 family in Al-Saida (the lady) monastery in Alqosh.

  • 23 family in St. Matti monastery.

  • 22 family in St. Behnam monastery.

In cooperation with a number of volunteer doctors, HHRO visited the displaced families in Al-Saida monastery in Alqosh and provided the necessary medical care and medicine.
