- Hammurabi Human Rights Organization continues to implement the relief project on the occasion of Christmas for returnees and displaced persons with support of Christian Solidarity International (CSI).
- Distributing winter clothing to 598 children in Al-Taakhi complex for poor returnees in Hamdaniya district.
This relief step comes as a continuation of the relief project implemented by HHRO in Al-Sakhra and Nishteman camps, and the orphan centers in Al-Sayeda monastery and Nuns monastery, and in the Khank camp for students of the Kani Sabi School.
Hammurabi Human Rights Organization(HHRO) continued to implement a relief project on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year with the support of Christian Solidarity International (CSI).
On 3-4 January 2020, a relief team headed to Al-Taakhi complex for poor returees in Hamdaniya district and distributed winter clothing including more than 598 children of the complex and from both sexes.
The relief team of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization headed by Mrs. Pascale Warda, the chairwoman of the organization, Mr. Louis Marqos Ayoub, deputy Director of the Organization, and each of the engineer Fares Jarjir, Miss Rita Issa, Rafid Rafael Kaju, Youssef Ishaq, Abdel-Masih Bader , Bassam Habib Shamoun, Bahamnam Waad Allah and Mr. Farhan Youssef members of the General assembly of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization.
A team of employees from the Center of safe return , which is run by Hammurabi Human Rights Organization and the Alliance of Minorities Network participated in the winter clothing distribution, including Rania Hikmat Zakko, Qadisiya Yaqoub, Jewan Ablahad Yako and Fadi Daoud Backus.
It is to be mentioned that Hammurabi Human Rights Organization implemented a similar project with the support of Christian Solidarity International (CSI).
A team headed to Al-Sakhra and Nishteman camps in Erbil on Tuesday 10/12/2019, distributing winter track suits including 218 children of displaced Christian families and Syrian refugees who have lived in these camps for several years.
The human rights activist Helen Rey from Christian Solidarity International (CSI) participated in the distribution along with Mr. Louis Marqos Ayoub, deputy Director of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, Mr. William Warda, Public Relations Officer of the organization, Mr. Yohanna Yousif Tawaya, head of the organization's branch in Erbil , Mr. Farhan Youssef member of the General Board Emad Abed, and the volunteer Dr. Rabih Soran the director of the complex. This is not the first time that Hammurabi Human Rights Organization has implemented a relief project for the displaced and refugees in these two camps.
In the same context, a relief team from the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization headed on Thursday 12/12/2019 to the orphan centers in Alqosh district to distribute clothes to the orphans who are housed by the Orphans Center for Boys in Al-Sayyeda, monastery and the Orphans Center for Girls in Nuns monastery,as the distribution included winter clothes for 18 orphan children, and this project is supported by Christian Solidarity Organization (CSI).The participants in the distribution project were Mrs. Helen Ray from (CSI) , Mr. William Warda, and Akad Yohanna members of the Board of Directors of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, Nashat Semoo and Farhan Youssef, members of the General Board of the organization and the volunteer Emad Abed Ali.
On Friday 13/12/2019, the relief team of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization and Mrs. Helen Ray of CSI headed to the Khank camp for the Kani Sabi School, to distribute winter rain-jackets to (120) Yazidi children surviving from the terrorist ISIS , after completion they went on the same day to the ASEAN camp on the outskirts of the Yazidi town of Baathra, and distributed winter rain-jackets to (324) orphan children, including (80) children in nursery inside the camp and (31) orphans inhabited in the camp.
After completing the distribution, the team went to Sheikhan district center, to distribute winter rain-jackets to (40) Syrian refugee families included 65 Syrian children. Hammurabi organization distributed (31) winter rain- jackets to (31) poor children in the village of Jambour, located in the district of Faida, in the district of Telkif. Father Hermes of Al-Sayyeda, monastery in Alqosh volunteered to serve the poor people.
Thus, Hammurabi Human Rights Organization has included in this relief project 1356 children, among whom are orphans of both sexes, Christians, Yazidis, Syrian survivors and refugees.
