Alex Warkis: Press Remarks of the Secretary for former Speaker is to mislead the public opinion and baseless

Alex Arkis, Former National Security Adviser to the Iraqi parliament, denied the remarks attributed to Iyad Samarrai, former parliament speaker and issued by his press secretary which was published in several of the media to justify Samurai process of dismissing  Alex  Arkis from office as an adviser to the Iraqi parliament in the last hours from the term of Samurai to the presidency of Parliament .

Arkis surprised at the way that Mr. Samarrai handled, to clarify the facts to the Iraqi people, stressing that "the decision of his removal from office not only at the last hours of the mandate of Al- Samurai and not a few months ago as was alleged, citing by the official letter with the number 429, issued on 15 / 3 / 2010, which included a resolution exempting him from office and appended to the signing of Samurai ".

Alex Arkis also added that "sticking the charge of incompetence on him  is nothing but to mislead public opinion and driving away suspicion of religious discrimination on Al- Samurai, and his involvement in the violation of the law," noting that "this accusation is unfounded and is void for lack of any notice or warning or an investigative committee suggest in his record, but instead he received an annual bonus, and a rise in Al-Samurai era  according to the letter No. 1221 of 06.22.2009 ".  Alex is wondering by saying, "If  Al-Samurai is sincere in his claim of my incompetence, how is the upgrading of staff is efficient, and getting a positive assessment. From this point I challenge him if he could match his words with documentation to support the veracity of his claims, particularly as the press secretary raised the issue of claiming not submitting any report for my work in Parliament, while the latest report received by Mr. Al-samarai from me was in 01/17/2010, and that this is the documents that will be waiting for him in court. "

In the context of efficiency, Alex Arkis wondered "Is efficiency and sense of responsibility that the Speaker  leaves his country in the darkest circumstances and during the enactment of the elections law, knowing that all officials in the world typically cut their visit or vacation to return home if there was a crisis, even if simple. at the time that the Speaker of the parliament is to bear his responsibilities to administrate the affairs in the right form that serves the country, he evaded of responsibility and left the country at the height of political and legal crisis, so that who speaks of efficiency and responsibility is to start first in the assessment of himself before evaluating the others who are most careful and dedicated  to the homeland and work.

Alex Ayad called Al-Samarrai not to hide behind words and statements fabricated by his press secretary if he had have enough courage to defend himself, indicating readiness to prove his words, calling Iyad Al-Samarrai to televised debate in public, to the people in any channel selected by Al-Samurai himself, saying " I'm ready to open all the files that Al-Samarai wants and raised and I am calling him to defend himself. So the person who doesn't have the courage to defend himself then how can he defend the rights of Iraqis?

Alex Arkis raised religious discrimination lawsuit against Iyad Al-Samarrai in the First Instance Court of Al- Karkh in Baghdad, accusing Al- Samurai, accusing him  that the process of his removal only just for being Christian and not as driven by the Al-Samarrai Press Secretary, by false allegations and false and unfounded at all ...

The hearing of the case was on Tuesday 05/18/2010, which has been adjourned until next month to non-presence of the defendant before the court.
