Hammurabi Human Rights Organization launched a program during December_2012 aiming to support and aid families returning from Syria and others suffering from poverty and financial conditions in the Nineveh plain.
216 Kerosene heaters were delivered, in addition to winter coats to children in orphanages and IDPs complexes, with more than 500 children within more than 210 families being the beneficiaries of this program.
The program also included providing support for the monasteries which house a number of orphans and financially disadvantaged children, moreover, the program included providing support for two Syriac language schools in Hamdaniya district.
This program took place in cooperation with Christian Solidarity International (CSI-USA). HHRO and CSI have been keen to support such relief programs to provide aid for those who need it during winter and to support elements of survival and endurance for minorities to remain in their home countries and to decrease the percentage of emigration.
