Mrs. Pascale Warda, Chairwoman of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization and Mr. Louis Marcos Ayoub, Vice President of the Organization, receive a delegation from the Japanese IVY Civil Human Rights Organization, including Minsheed Awashi, Chairwoman of the organization, Mikomi Takeda, Director of the Iraq Office, Shilan Aram and Waseem Georgis, coordinators for Iraq affairs in general.
The meeting held on Tuesday 19/9/2018 at the headquarters of the organization branch in Erbil, including Mr. yohanna Yousef Towaya Head of the organization's branch in Erbil , Dr. Hamid Shehab, member of the General Board and Adel Saad, media advisor.
Mrs. Pascale Warda and Mr. Louis Marcos Ayoub welcomed the delegation and confirmed the aspiration of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization for more partnerships in human rights work that will serve the citizens issues, enhance educational and public awareness activities, and facilitate the work of civil organizations in order to enable them to carry out their activities.
In her speech to the Japanese civil human rights delegation, Mrs. Warda displays a picture of the situation of minorities and the phenomenon of displacement, asylum and return to the liberated areas, and the basic needs of the returnees regarding educational, health and economic services and the difficult conditions experienced by some of these areas.
For her part, the head of Japanese IVY expressed happiness of the meeting and expressed her hope for future joint projects with Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, after IVY completed all the procedures for registration in order to take its activities legal framework under the Iraqi legislation.
The Japanese guest also stressed that there is significant progress in the public life of Iraqi citizens, but this progress needs more support and more attention to the needs of children and students in general, as well as strengthening infrastructure because it is the key to success in sustainable development.
