Hammurabi Human Rights Organization initiated a relief program represented in distributing school bags including children under the ceiling of poverty. The distribution took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, which undertook the nomination of families eligible for such relief, and in the presence of Mr. Adnan Karim Salman, Undersecretary for Labour Affairs and advisor to the Minister , Mrs. Mahasin Abdul-Jabbar Director of the Civil Society Organizations Department and staff from the Civil Society Organizations Department, the Citizens Affairs Department, and the Office of the Undersecretary of the Minister of Labour,
The work team included Mrs. Pascale Warda, Chairwoman of the organization, Mr. William Warda, Director of Public Relations in the Organization, Dr. Mohammad Kathem, Member of the Board of Directors, and Eng. Mohammad Essam, Administration Director of the Organization. The implementation of this relief program is supported by Christian Solidarity International (CSI).
The distribution took place in two steps, the first on Sunday, December 11, 2022, by distributing 81 bags, while on the second day 115 bags were distributed. The process of distribution coincide with the seventy-fourth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948.
It is hoped that Hammurabi Human Rights Organization will complete the rest of the program later this month.
On the sidelines of the programme, deliberations were held between the Organization and officials in the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs to establish joint projects to serve the rights of families covered by social welfare.
It is mentioned that the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization has previously held human rights and relief partnerships with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
