
On Tuesday, February 18th 2025, a training workshop on nail beautification and protection was held in Erbil-Ankawa.
The workshop will run till February 22nd, to qualify and enhance the skills of women in the society, enabling for work access to improve their livelihoods, economic and social status, and protect their dignity.
Mr. William Warda, Director of Public Relations and Media delivered a welcoming speech saying: “We are honored to host in this workshop a group of women from all segments of Iraqi society besides refugee women from Syria to gain skills and experience in the art of nail beautification to overcome and improve their difficult living conditions.”
Mr. Warda added that, "Hammurabi Organization is keen to support marginalized groups of women, especially the displaced, refugees, returnees from abroad, widows, divorced, and those who have not had the opportunity to demonstrate their talents, to thrift job opportunities by organizing training workshops without having to pay exorbitant amounts, developing their skills and enabling to compete in the labor market."
On the second day and during her visit and follow-up work to the workshop, Mrs. Pascale Warda, Chairwoman of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization, said, “Woman is an important element in the society, she must try and insist on learning and mastering more than one skill in order to challenge the difficulties of life and support her family financially and morally
in order not to let the society to overcome and dampen her ambitions and talents. She is strong with patience and insistence on adapting to life.”
On her part, Ms. Taghrid Adris, the responsible of the Erbil branch, told Nergal News Agency "There was a lot of turnout to register for the course being free of charge, but the narrowness of the training room did not allow us to admit more than twelve trainees, they received training by the most efficient and skilled and highly experienced trainer in working in this field".
This workshop, held by the Erbil branch of the Hammurabi Organization, was the second in this month, where the first was on waxwork and Turkish stone, for training thirteen women and girl.
The project included a series of free training workshops specializing in various fields, such as beautification, art of ornament and other workshops. These projects benefit young people and women to provide knowledge necessary to improve their opportunities in the labor market.
The project also includes the provision of awareness advice and the introduction of past experiences to give them the required motivation and encourage to provide better for themselves in particular and for society at large.
The project is also committed to providing an inclusive and supportive educational environment and hopes for a positive impact on the level of individual and society as a whole.
